CASE Remote Air wi-fi camera control on Indiegogo

July 30, 2016

My last investment on Indiegogo was $US545 in November 2013. Expected delivery September 2014. I’m still waiting. My point being that I’m extremely wary of the funding model. I’ve made an exception with the new CASE Remote Air wi-fi remote for many Canon and Nikon cameras. The campaigner, CheeringTech, has an established record of delivering, and the product is an enhancement of their earlier campaign. There’s 15 days remaining to buy your “perk”, and they’re already funded 10x the initial goal.

So what is it? There’s loads of detail at the campaign page, including videos. In a nutshell, it will let you control many settings of your camera, without the need for cables. While I can control my Canon 5D Mark II with Phase One’s iPad app, it requires me to connect a laptop to my camera. It almost defeats the purpose. Mount this small device on or beside your camera, and you control it with their app.

A pretty good deal at $US84 + shipping ($US15.00 to New Zealand). Or get two at $US138. Be in before the price goes up again. I’m very much looking forward to using it.
